Well, I knew I was going to enjoy my weekend in Turkey when the shop above was almost the first sight to greet me on my arrival ...
... and it does seem that Turkish people like their sugar and/or bread based products, with little guys selling sweetened bread on every corner, and the wildest variety of fattening sweeties imaginable; from Turkish Delight to make any one of us a slave to the Winter Queen (below right), through variations on the biscuit / baclawa / yumminess soaked in rose syrup theme, to a lovely range of nut-based sweet stuff (although you have to get past the fact that some of them look like condoms ... they taste great! honest!)
